Rowland Geddie
Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise
Rowland Geddie grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi. He graduated from Tupelo High School and attended the University of Mississippi, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees. He is the General Counsel of Gardner Capital, Inc., which develops affordable housing and solar generation projects.
Rowland joined the Rotary Club of Lamar, Missouri in 1995 and served in various roles, including as President in 2002-03. In 2012, he moved to Springfield and joined the Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise. He has served the Springfield Sunrise Club as Foundation Chair, International Service Chair and Youth Exchange Officer. In 2019, he was named Rotarian of the Year by his club.
On the District level, Rowland has served as Assistant Governor both in District 6080 and District 6110. From 2018 to 2022, he served as the District International Service Chair. In addition, he is a member of the District 6080 Youth Exchange Committee. In 2019, he received The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service from Rotary International. In 2021, Past District Governor Jacque Howard awarded him a Rotary Foundation District Service Award and a Rotary Avenues of Service Award for International Service. Rowland also served on the Show Me Rotary Council that organizes the Show Me Rotary Leadership Institute for Presidents Elect in Districts 6040, 6060 and 6080. Rowland was a member of the inaugural class of the District Leadership Academy in District 6080, and served as a member of the faculty for the Academy for three years.
Rowland is a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation, a member of the Paul Harris Society and a Benefactor of the Foundation.
Rowland is married to Peggy, and they have two adult daughters.
