Valerie Sorensen

District 6060

Valerie Sorensen has been a Rotarian and Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Cottleville/Weldon Spring, MO since 2000.  She served as Club President in 2005-2006.  Valerie supports The Rotary Foundation as a Major Donor, Benefactor, Paul Harris Society member, and Polio Plus Society member.  Her past roles with Rotary District 6060 are Assistant Governor and Stewardship Chair with the district’s Foundation Committee.  Valerie’s club honored her with Rotarian of the Year in 2013 and 2021 and membership to the Paul Harris 711 Club.  Valerie and her husband, Mike, have enjoyed attending six (so far) Rotary International conventions in Chicago (2005), New Orleans (2011), Atlanta (2017), Hamburg (2019), and Virtual in 2020 and 2021.

After graduating from University of Alaska Fairbanks with a BBA-Finance, Valerie returned home to St. Charles, MO.  She now has been a financial planner with Ameriprise Financial since 1999, helping clients achieve and maintain a comfortable retirement and funding their children’s educations.  Mike and Valerie have been married since 2002 and live in Moscow Mills, MO.  They enjoy traveling, motorcycle riding, gardening, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, St. Louis Blues Hockey, and spending time with extended family, including their six nieces and nephews.
